Imagine your household makes $100-120k per year and owes $5-6 million in debt.

This is the ballpark situation for the US gov.

If a family member suggested a path forward was to spend less and stop borrowing. Would you shut them down or consider this advice?

and to think - if that 100K family put half of their income towawards paying

that debt - it would still take them 100 years to pay it off.
