I live in a small town. My dad and I have similar looks and vote at the same place. Years ago a very old man doing check-ins thought I was my dad and told me to sign his name on the form and I'm all like nope that's my dad wrong person 😂

The steel man argument is that the right to vote is so important that there is absolutely nothing the government is authorized to do to stop people from voting.
But at the same time they bend over backwards to infringe on the right to keep and bear arms, so consistency isn’t their strong point.
I don’t believe in universal suffrage. Call me old fashioned, but I don’t think people with nothing at stake should be allowed to decide how money gets spent or laws get made.

My favorite is left wing Canadians arguing vehemently that voter ID is the work of the devil... when Canada has voter ID.
The reason is so the illegals and criminals can vote Democrat in the elections. The liberal party was trying to change that up in Canada too so anyone can vote regardless of their citizenship.
The liberal party already removed the restriction that only Canadians can enlist in the military.

I once took my voter registration card to the voting booth, I’d never voted at the time. Get out my card get in line and they tell me “sir you need your ID”. I told her “here it is, my voter registration card” she then proceeded to tell me how I needed a state issued ID or I could not vote. I drove home which was nearby and voted, first and last time that happened to me. What states can you vote as an Amish unregistered pure bread American 🇺🇸

Voter fraud is statistically insignificant and virtually zero and there are only bad optics and negative consequences of preventing accessibility to voting. Illegal in person voting has never mattered at all in the grand scheme of things. Just another political point to get one side angry at the other over something that really doesn't matter.
