Why is it called narcissistic?

There is a Greek legend that tells the story of a young man named Narcissus. One day, he saw his reflection in the water of a well. He was captivated by his beauty and continued to stare at his reflection in admiration until he finally lost his balance, fell into the well, and drowned.

After that, the well dried up, and in its place grew a flower called the narcissus flower. The narcissus flower is known as an attractive flower with a fragrant aroma, but it is also classified as a poisonous flower. Any plant that grows around it will die.

Therefore, the term "narcissism" is used to describe a personality that is "toxic" and detrimental to others. From this legend, the term "narcissism" was born, which refers to excessive love of oneself or an egocentric nature.
