My bf was shocked when I explained what each of these are for yesterday then proceeded to get him the Mac daddy set😂👀

Do women not know their power tools? Or is it just a lady bitcoiner thang?

Yeah, I could use some explaining too! 🤣🤣

I used to have a business which sold tons of them and I still don't have a clue

They all look the same to me. I need some teaching. Say I just wanna buy just one for odd chores around the house. What should I get m’am?

Probably the impact driver or the drill driver. The impact driver is for driving screws/bolts with torque.

Then what's the impact aspect all about? Sorry but I am a psychopath about tools and so couldn't let this one go and had to break down the nuances here. 🙏😅

Saying the impact driver is "for driving screws/bolts with torque" implies that it's unique in using torque, which isn't true.

Some clarity here... Both impact drivers and drill drivers use torque. The difference is how they deliver it. Impact drivers apply rotational bursts of torque via impacts, which make them more effective at driving large or long fasteners without stripping screws or stalling.

What makes an impact driver distinct you may ask????

Impact driver uses concussive rotational force (an impacting action) unlike a drill driver, which applies continuous torque.

Also this may be a bit vague for some people unfamiliar with hardware so here ya go...

"screws/bolts," aspect: bolts are often used with nuts and require precise torque settings, typically better handled by a torque wrench or impact wrench, not an impact driver.

Impact drivers are not designed for bolt tightening to spec, and can over-torque or damage and strech threads if not used properly.

This might explain why I stripped a few screws yesterday

That's super good info. Thank you! (by the way, you're not the HT from Aroms forums back in the late 90's early 2000's, are you?

🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️ nope 😅
