IMHO this was never going to be anything more than a simple mesh network tool.
Great for disasters! It's like having a flashlight for when the power goes out.
But you don't use a flashlight to light your home regularly, you have better tools for that....
True, for the Bluetooth side of it at least. But it was also primed to be a global chat app through its integration with Nostr. But it seems it was neutered for the sake of the mesh network “feel”.
Yeah the "Chat" part always felt awkwardly "bolted on" to me. We have better tools for that IMHO.
