Will has a good point here: sometimes a “like” can have benefits in terms of alerting you to people you may otherwise not have seen.

Playing devil’s advocate to myself: if you’re following someone and *want* them to see you, a zap is a sure fire way to do that while also giving them value.

Idk, I’m still going back and forth on this...

Sometimes it’s nice to just “like” a note to let someone know you’ve seen it (especially if you’re liking their reply to your note).

But then again, maybe I’m just stuck in the centralized platform mentality, where we’re algorithmically conditioned to desire “being seen.”
