Alright #artstr

Two mediums: gravity & photography

Built this in Maine a few years back. One shot with a “real” camera, one with an iPhone SE.

Two photos, two angles.

If I may,

What were you thinking about while making this?

Building a cairn can be a very spiritual and humbling thing.

Do you do this often? Is it for the challenge? Or does Odin speak to you?

I love that you ask 🙏

At the risk of invoking a cliche, building this was an incredibly zen experience for me.

Usually it’s a bit more “heady” - trying to find the right stones, the right angles.

This time, each stone presented itself and nestled into place perfectly on nearly the first try.

It was the most precarious-yet-perfect balance I had ever achieved as a result. Stillness.

Wow.

I'm glad I asked. I want sure if it was going to be too personal. But that sounds meant to be!

Thank you 🫂🙏

I used my friend’s camera for the finer shot. Not something I have much experience with…. But it was a nice camera!! Lol
