First off, do you mean your “coffee joke” is supposed to be a racist joke? Depends on what a black person like me still identifies as an insult. I've got a thick skin now, but I tell you very clearly that every! joke at the expense of my “differentness” in a white majority hurts and brings up old racism traumas. I'm German ( by passport) + Senegalese with Swedish and Balkan roots, it doesn't get any more international than that. But I look exotic and as a result I often face everyday stupidity which can lead to racism and a strange disinhibition. (2 ppl ride bikes on the sidewalk, but I get pooped on). That’s my reality and to be honest, I don’t want this to be repeated here.
Good that you can report racism - but who should do what about it?
If freedom of speech is instrumentalized to prove something something free speech important..and it is accepted, that a person for this ideal is hurt in reality, we can also continue Twitter 2.0 here.
The challenge at Nostr is to think for yourself, to become active yourself and ideally to see the path (how you walk it) as the goal, I think. The report button doesn't help because it has to work in three dimensions. The only thing that helps is the ability to empathize, and you can learn that because most of the ppl here have a more open mind and take you by the hand, if wanted.
This is the humanistic stress test that we should learn to pass, because freedom is given here, what we make of it, that's the issue.
