That sounds like a fun way to get some maritime experience, but keep in mind this has nothing to do with seasteading. Boats are not optimized for life at sea at all, they are optimized to move through it.

Good point.. read through the posts here a bit further. Do you think a sea stead in the open ocean is possible (like on the Pacific)? Would it have to be submerged because of storms? I always thought it was a cool idea till I realized that it seemed like the projects always depended on being near land in some countries jurisdiction.. but it sounds like open ocean seasteading might actually be possible?

To answer my own question, of course it's possible if it's huge enough. So the real question is, how much would it cost to build one in the Pacific ocean, and have it be free floating and yet stay in one spot. Ie. What's the cost of building a whole new country from the ground up and how can it happen. People love Hawaii, this could be like hawaii2.
