I'm surprised people expect zaps to be the default.

Zaps are less private, less secure, more centralized and more confusing to newbies than plain LN.

The one thing it got right is the catchy name.

That is the first time I've heard that. All I've heard since day 1 was that zaps were the best thing since sliced bread and every client needed them. I'ts good to know about the downsides.

Agree, but its all about the UI/UX imo

Having LN integrated brings it to life in a new way for many. Beyond all the thinking
