Nah, not necessarily. You're making the assumption it is recognized without assistance.

When you're pressured about events that make no sense, and you get harassed over particular repeating sentences, then either one of two things happen: 1. You fall for it because you're not sure of the facts and the missing pieces get filled in, or 2. You compare with the knowledge you have and spot a pattern in the manipulations.

In a way, being too greedy for 1. will lead the others into 2. It would be far harder if you have no knowledge of the situation, but then you're also not a suitable candidate for it. (And that's based off logical reasoning.)
