people always want to hear the truth unless it isn't the truth they want to hear. That begins with "how are you today?" expecting the answer "great, how are you?" but if you really tell them how you feel they're literally confused.

Is it tho? 😂 I think this is also cultural. Correct me if I am wrong, but e.g in America, they ask "how you doin" as a form of greeting. But in other countries, they may be more interested in the answer. Maybe germans. At least who I met from America and Germany. Might be wrong. Not really a representative measure.
I haven’t shared a fraction of my real opinions on the shit I read here every day. I could, but it’ll be a shitstorm and I could care less to start things over dumb arguments when the majority of people are cool majority of the time. I’ve been ignoring the things I don’t agree with because we all have some opinions we won’t agree with all the time and that’s fine. Prefer to focus on the positive but sometimes it’s hard not to interject.
I literally don’t have time for all the arguments I feel I should be having.
It’s also not pleasant and can add unreasonable amounts of stress to my day for almost no reason.
Despite knowing this, it can be weirdly hard to fight diving in.

I hear you and I envy you for your control. I'm constantly working on keeping my mouth shut on certain topics but then I slip and let it out anyway. Not everything has to be said at all times and sometimes keeping your mouth shut is more productive than not. It's also better for your own mental state.
Plus, most people can't agree to disagree. You're either with them or against them. Very few can disagree on a topic and still be (online) friends. It's part of the whole tribes and factions shit.
