It’s a very good question.

I believe that if one is/becomes a resident of a foreign country, one should get used to the cultures and customs, some might be very different from where you originally come from.

Proselytizing a certain “culture” over another can lead to pretty disastrous results.

Assimilation is a hell paved with good intentions.

Nevertheless, being polite, patient, respectful and open minded are virtues always welcomed.

True! Internet is multicultural and diverse, so technically assimilation is not needed, despite people arguing for it. We all try to make place where we want to be as comfortable as possible for us, and that’s instinctively correct. Since we also managed to develop higher order thinking, we should utilize that more to reason against instincts that helped our ancestors to survive but pointless and counterproductive now! 🐶🐾🫡
