I am not sure what the norm is, but I have to ask. Is prescribing your cultural values to others a normal thing? It’s an honest question, not a challenge. I am looking for a measured and reasonable responses if possible 🐶🐾🫡 nostr:note1x7su4znhvpx32hnzhjvcr337egdkjjspsns27xfnru2d2fcunaeqr9pfj8

Yeah, I can’t see the note either 🐶🐾🤷‍♂️

Prescribing cultural values to others can be problematic, as it can lead to cultural imposition and lack of diversity. Which he created would be boring 🥱.

Instead, I think it would be better to adopt an attitude of respect, tolerance and intercultural dialogue to foster a more understanding society (perhaps).

That coupled with recognizing universal values can help us find a balance between preserving cultural identities.

All this mix might be better than losing ourselves in other groups that we do not identify with.

Good one. Yea so we don't become homogeneous and everybody gets to keep their uniqueness es

Minimum consensus: All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Yes

Everyone does it

It is a social norm

It’s a very good question.

I believe that if one is/becomes a resident of a foreign country, one should get used to the cultures and customs, some might be very different from where you originally come from.

Proselytizing a certain “culture” over another can lead to pretty disastrous results.

Assimilation is a hell paved with good intentions.

Nevertheless, being polite, patient, respectful and open minded are virtues always welcomed.

True! Internet is multicultural and diverse, so technically assimilation is not needed, despite people arguing for it. We all try to make place where we want to be as comfortable as possible for us, and that’s instinctively correct. Since we also managed to develop higher order thinking, we should utilize that more to reason against instincts that helped our ancestors to survive but pointless and counterproductive now! 🐶🐾🫡
