how would i diagnose and fix this?

it’s a 2019 macbook pro 13”

the display was working depending on the tilt of the screen (so i’m guessing it’s a frayed / loose cable somewhere, that’s going from mobo to the display), but now the display isn’t working at any angle

i used to be able to sometimes push near the bottom of the display, put it just at the right angle, and then it worked - but it seems like the cable(s) that are broken must be pretty well fked now

thoughts?

Depending on your comfort level, it doesn’t seem too difficult to pull apart to check the display connector.

ahhhh that seems pretty chill actually, i was watching a youtube video and it looked like they took a lot more apart (made it look way more intimidating)

but yeah i’ll give that a look and try see if it’s just a fucked cable, best case it’s literally just a loose cable

but i think these models of macbook pros have been suffering from like the display cables fraying, so we will see

looks difficult to just replace single ribbon cables that run past the display, because you have to actually take the seal off from around the screen to get to the small cavity behind the actual screen where the ribbon cables run

but i’ll see what i can discover this way, cheers
