Mine are 11 and 13 so we're on different paths at the moment, but loves me some babies 😭 I wish my kids were younger sometimes. They were so precious...and didn't fight with one another 😂
Looking back at this period of your life, what would you have done differently or advice you would have wanted?
This is a tough one. I don't think I would have done anything differently. I was very prepared for kids. I am the oldest sibling and cousin in a large extended family. I grew up having a new sibling or cousin every year or so. I am very used to babies and kids.
I guess for advice, make sure that you allow for time for you and your spouse to have adult time. You need time to date each other and appreciate one another. When kids are little they consume your whole life, which is how it should be, but don't forget to do things together without the kids. They'll be okay at grandparents for an evening, if you have that luxury. If not, find a trusted babysitter. It's healthy for parents and kids.
The first child takes 90% of your free time. The second child takes 90% of what’s left.
😅
Hard as a trucker now, but just a temporary time in my life. My oldest is 24 and also has his CDL, the twins are turning 11 next week. Lots of kids around now, but the Amish ones are friendly but don’t usually speak English or Spanish. Still nice kids.
Adult time is important but harder to find now. Son wants to go trucking again this summer :) daughter not so sure… good times, especially since buying 31 acres almost 2 years ago. My advice is get kids outside, learn their interests, encourage learning and entrepreneurship, teach them about sovereign money. 😉

Agreed! My wife and I have been thinking of write out a family mission statement including our faith, culture of our family, heritage, etc
I have two under four. Raising kids in a single-breadwinner family so mom can be there for the kids.
Would love to chat about the Christian faith/theology any time.
