This is such a strange argument. Core devs dont want to play the cat and mouse game, without realizing it justifies a majority of their existence as a Dev. If you aren't fixing exploits and bugs, then what the fuck else are supposed to do? Thats when they get bored and come up with insane ideas to "make bitcoin better". Or they realize its not paying the bills anymore and choose to work on shitcoin projects (heard that from a core Dev on the "what bitcoin did" podcast recently)
