Well so conspiracy theorists look like fools. So what? What difference does it make what any of us believe? Isn’t it obvious that we live in something like a totalitarian state. Elections don’t matter. Truth has no consequences. Journalism is pointless. Americans have no ability to act. Political change only comes through organization for action, which seems to be impossible these days. All of this exposing of the truth, or the effort to confuse truth seekers, really doesn’t matter. Cass Sunstein .is the poster boy for the banality of evil.

My own feeling is that the real decay is within the language itself. The real health of a country is in language used in action. Barbarians are people who don’t speak Greek. But the very idea of acting frightens Americans. Actually doing something to make things better is un-American.

Change will only come when people are able to articulate what they want in a context where we are going to do something, and are not simply gossiping about what we have been tricked into believing. The idea that in America if people know the truth about what happened they will do something about it is, in my opinion, the biggest falsehood of all.
