Ok, I'm calling it a day. Did not meet my deadline but did take the project from 10% to 80% so that's great work considering how much inertia I've had. I must be on my third read of the Body Electric and it's just a lot to wrap my head around.

Biologists freak me out. Did you know the inventor of the EEG first developed it by inserting wires into his own son's scalp? Can you imagine being that boy's mother and coming home to see that? But hey, moving science forward I suppose 🫡🤣😭

So many of the casual descriptions of how these scientists just experimented on everyone including themselves. One guy developed a way to counteract brain waves rendering an effect like anesthesia. He proved this by repeatedly knocking himself out with electricity 🤣

They're lunatics. Absolute mad lads. But I'm so grateful for the science they produced so I can't judge them too harshly!

Oh same, hard same. My attitude is that we have a choice to see silver linings so I try my best. It's a hard read though, I've always been squeamish about this stuff 😅
