Basically, NVK likes to fud projects that are just fine to use because he's afraid of competition in a complete fucking clown.
And very easy to find who support such claims; follow the VC funding 👀
Just build your own shit, verify the best you can for yourself what you're running,edge-cases and code, & live your life
Like, on one hand, I do definitely understand his hate for Broadcom. I get it.
But on the other hand, it really doesn't make sense to talk shit on other products that have valid use.
Seed signers, because they're based off of a Raspberry Pi and other bords, do not have a secure element, meaning they are not storing your seed on the device. Seed storage becomes the user's responsibility.
I guess ultimately though it comes down to user preference. Do you want to place your trust in a company like Coinkite to keep your seed safe, Or would you rather put your trust in a project that is actually FOSS and forces you to store your key in a different manner?
Some people probably won't like the responsibility that a seed signer kind of forces you to take on and would rather just have a single device that stores your keys and that's totally understandable.
In my original snide comment aside, as much as I want to respect NVK for being someone who actually does a lot of useful shit for Bitcoin, his business conduct is bad. He talks shit on other products simply because they're competition And called out his bullshit like changing licenses And trying to say that his project is still free and open source.
GFM. I reserved the Q a week ago 🥲 ☠️
Like I said at the end of the day, it's user choice. And his product has a lot of marketing, VC backing and whatnot so the cold card gets pushed pretty hard but I will never touch one personaly.
What is your best alternative for cold card? Your words give me the creeps a little bit.... Which airgapped hardwallet is the best to use? Thank you
I prefer and use a seed singer.
Bit again "best" is Subjective. If you don't want a signing device and prefer a device that stores your seed on the device then a CC or a jade or whatever might be a good choice.
A seed signer is not a hardware wallet in the traditional sense of hardware wallet.
🤔 do it's not the best
