It's really hard to understand that something you initially find very similar to some other thing, is actually its direct opposite.

Great point, never thought of it in such absolute terms but I think you’re exactly right.
Only difference being, #bitcoin predated crYpT0, which was a series of centralized attempts to copy or improve upon it, usually with impure intent
Whereas from what I know about Twitter early days the intent was to make it much more pure ie. as a protocol, but over time it became bastardized and now Nostr returns us to those purer roots
