TYT hosts are baffled when a Trump rally crowed starts chanting "Genocide Joe." Trump has made it clear he doesn't see the Palestinians as people.
I'm *not* baffled by the chant. Trump has been promising anti-interventionism, know-nothing isolationism for years. There is a deep isolationist streak in the US.
To them *any* money spent on foreign aid or on wars, or aid to make wars is wasted. They also hate support for Ukraine, and humanitarian aid to Gaza.
At some point we need to admit that the way policy and ideology work in Trump land doesn’t work by the same logic that works for normal politics. It’s not about political positions so much as a kind of in-group strong man populism. His people have no problem with jumping from one political position to another based on the whims of what’s expedient or often what undermines their opponents. Tiktok should be banned, then don’t ban tiktok, support Israel above all, or Israel is committing geocide.
You guys are debating the positions of edge radicals that carved out ludicrous positions to get maximum airtime and “clicks” in mainstream media that’s hell bent on dividing people. And their success in doing it, and lack of push back from rational people is why the USA will be deciding between two nightmare candidates.
