Not really. Science is chugging along like always. What's different is the right-wing, anti-intellectual culture has turned science into a vehicle of politics, where every scientific endeavor is viewed through a political lens, and rejected if its conclusions don't support their pre-existing, partisan perspective.

What's missing in action is the right's critical thinking faculties, and ability to put their fervent political views on the shelf when considering matters of science, and objective truth.
