Normies leaving nostr because of bitcoin content is different from building for bitcoiners as early adoptors.

pivoting further towards techies will drive out the already onboarded normies

but hey, you can't have both, eh

Why? Because of even more bitcoin content?

Focussing feature development on techies doesn't necessarily change the experience for normies?

hmm, i guess the most popular content and users gets pushed most with clients, which currently is nostr, bitcoin and tech, and it shows during onboarding user recommendations and also with trending posts

It’s interesting to watch tech minded folks get frustrated with non dev talk and others get frustrated with too much dev/tech talk. Best solution: try to keep everyone a similar amount of frustrated.

People leaving because they’re tired of too much bitcoin content probably just need suggestions on people to follow with similar interests to their own.

Yeah exactly, what you describe is mostly a result of users with different (incompatible) interests mingling, which can be solved with sufficient content&person exploration, which we'll have within this year. 🤔

Though I'm quite sure it's possible now to build a following list without any bitcoin content 🤔

💯 I think it’s currently possible to build a follow list without any bitcoin content. I think blaming it on bitcoin content is a bit of a cop out and what they really mean is I don’t want to do the work to curate what I see. People have grown accustomed to being spoon fed content.

Oh yeah absolutely!

I was reading some about users switching solutions laat week.

The model described the users familiarity with an old product as inertia. And cost of switching as friction.

The increases effort of maunallu curating following lists stings inertia and is high friction. And thus a filter for people with high commitment 🤔

I like rubber ducks 🥹

Yeah, but there are normal normies and early adopter normies. We need early adopters that aren’t programmers or bitcoin enthusiasts. People that see the potential but understand that there isn’t any data harvesting algorithm, and they need to build the different communities. I’m watching bowl games today, but there’s no cfb community here. V4V is the teaser that can bring them.

The curious will stay 🔥🤓
