So for the plebs: the device amplifies the signal distance?

Yes, the meshcore devices can go much farther than Bluetooth range and also have repeaters available with which to broadcast a signal even farther. Thanks to my local repeater, I'm able to contact a node 17 miles from my house.

Well done sir!

I was wishing for this integration, thanks for building it for us, so I don't have to attempt to do so myself. This seems an obvious integration of complementary technologies.

Now we just need to integrate this offline app distribution with what you just built. Then, we may be finally removing some difficult security threats making us all more uncensorable.

When can someone build a market place with this tech ? I think that would be stellar. Before we're all shut out of traditional systems

What hardware are you using for LoRa connectivity?

Meaning to go down that rabbit hole but the sheer number of hardware options is overwhelming given my limited bandwidth...

Just dove down this rabbit hole myself yesterday. I decided I wanted to be up and running with my Meshtastic device sooner than later and with little headache, so I went and got myself a RAKwireless WisMesh Pocket v2 that was pre-assembled. (Bought from Rokland, if you're in the US.)

I decided to go with it as it has an OLED screen, GPS radio, rechargeable battery , and an external antenna with bluetooth. Possibly more than I'd ever need, but I'm excited to get it and try it out.

Unfortunately I'm in the EU, but also looking for a pre-assembled option (not as much free time on my hands as I used to have....)

I'll look into your suggestion and see if I find a local retailer

Thx!

Hope you can find a fairly local retailer!

Just did a little Kagi search, and came across this site: https://atlavox.com/products/atlavox-m1?variant=51324670607634 - looks like they have a brick-and-mortar in Bristol. Not sure if that helps you, but they do have an EU variant, and looks like they do EU shipping as well.

Thx

You are going to have tons of fun. Have a look at https://meshmap.net. It's volunteer, so it won't show everybody nearby, but you might get an idea of what's around you.

Definitely bookmarking this site. Thanks for the tip! I am very much looking forward to playing around with it!

Seeed SenseCAP Card Tracker T1000-E is a good out of the box start.

Budget version are Heltec LoRa V4 kits.

Will look into it

Thx

I've been using it for about a year, and I seriously suggest the Heltec MeshPocket since it doubles as a USB power bank for your phone.

Now we just need a vpn app that intercepts all nostr centric traffic and relays it straight over any available mesh network, making all nostr apps work with this

maybe could fork this feature into citrine honestly 🤷‍♂️

yeaaa, i have to try also 🥰

ill have to see if there's a new version becaused i tried this and it wasn't working on my 2 mesh devices.

Ser, that is maybe 6 inches…

hard photo to take

What did you try there?

Very interested in this!

Now do the same with Reticulum

🔥

Por aquí ya hemos realizado comunicaciones a varios cientos de km

Does this require any modifications to meshcore or is all on the bitchat side?

custom meshcore firmware

Ah, so the meshcore is reading ble messages from bitchat?

Can this work with meshtastic since it is the larger network?

Meshtastic for data is horrendous. It's protocol is too busy and slow in practice. Meshcore isn't great either, but way better in my opinion

That depends on what preset you select. On long fast, on meshtastic, it's only 1 KBPS, but on something like short fast, it can be something like 10 KBPS, and on short turbo it can be 20 KBPS.

Also, to address the channel utilization, telemetry has been disabled in the latest versions by default and you have to request it manually instead of it being sent out automatically.

Sure, but you mentioned meshtastic because of the larger network. but I'm reality nobody is using anything except longfast. In my area, long fast has 3 repeaters and I can connect to maybe 100 miles away within 2 hops .

Switching modes, there is some guy named Fred in the same town, and that's it. Lol

So at that point , you might as well use meshcore. Or in my case, reticulum

How to guide please 🙏

👀

Wtf. Big up. What you guys are playing with these days is wild as fuck. 🙏🏻

Awesome! This is what I like to see!

Great stuff Calle, I am extremely interested in how this is setup. Freedom Tech and Freedom Money, keep building people, keep building……

Yes, a how-to pl0x

yuuup

Where do i buy the meshcore thing

Pretty sure those are Heltec V3 LoRa32…

I could be wrong tho…

Why channel you posting to?

Gimme gimme, how to play with this? Have a few heltec v3's I can reflash to try.
