By: Capriglione, Leo-Wilson, Gerdes H.J.R. No. 146
A JOINT RESOLUTION
proposing a constitutional amendment relating to the right to own,
hold, and use a mutually agreed upon medium of exchange.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Article I, Texas Constitution, is amended by
adding Section 36 to read as follows:
Sec. 36. The right of the people to own, hold, and use a
mutually agreed upon medium of exchange, including cash, coin,
bullion, digital currency, or privately issued scrip, when trading
and contracting for goods and services shall not be infringed. No
government shall prohibit or encumber the ownership or holding of
any form or amount of money or other currency. Nothing in this
section shall be construed as restricting this state from choosing
the medium of exchange the state will accept for payments made to
the state.
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 2023.
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
proposition: "The constitutional amendment recognizing the right

privately issued scrip."

Doesnβt matter because itβs already permission less. Everyone on planet earth already has that right
100%
But it's still a nice gesture. π
Bills of rights generally just put into text what are already rights, not create new ones. It is generally good to write these things down to give the side arguing for the right the upper hand.
Yep. But if you have a biz and actually want to pay taxes, texas will take your bitcoin. That's still huge. Also said gold and silver were money again. I think they're getting ready to wall off against the CBDC's.
Well, it actually says any digital currency mutaully agreed upon, and we have to vote on it this November 7th. I'm hoping this is setting us up to go against the CBDC's and potentially secede, but who knows. I'm actually more excited about the precious metals talk. If Texas goes back to gold standard, that would be cool. But yes, they will end up taking bitcoin for your tax payment.
