You are definitely right about that. Consoles are pretty much plug and play and easy to use.

PC gaming is more complicated. I've never seen anyone hook up 4 controllers to their PC and game in the living room with friends.

Consoles are more for kids and family type settings. That's probably why Nintendo always has underpowered hardware because a parent and their children don't really care about graphics.
