Hondas are the shit, & they're super easy to work on. Drive it till the wheels fall off. Then put new ones on & drive it some more.

Toyota Landcruiser FTW

I like landcruisers too. My dad had an early 90s 4runner that literally could not be killed. But 4cyl Hondas are still way easier to work on than any toyota.

I have two 97 Honda Accords. My 5 speed has over 300,000 miles on it. I’ll buy another when it finally quits on me.

Just buy a lower mileage engine & a new clutch, if you can't do the swap find a honda guy that will for $500, gtg

It still runs fine, and it might never die. My wife drives a 2016 and I don’t trust it. Too much expensive shit to break.

If your car is newer than Bitcoin, you’re short Bitcoin.

I’m going to say this to my wife and we’ll see how it goes 😂

I have a 1999 HDJ100, electronics are difficult but the engine is a dream!

Toyotas are what we run in the outback in Aus, Landcruisers and Hiluxs. You can go to any graveyard and find parts (nice when you’re literally 1000km+ from civilisation) and those things will do 500,000 kms until the engine goes, then you drop another engine in and go another 500,000 kms.

Sorry bro but I’ll take that any day over a Honda!

this… Land cruisers are the go bro 😎

Different conditions... in those circumstances I would absolutely agree 💯

The Bush Mechanics series is pretty cool if you want to understand what those conditions can be like. https://youtu.be/cDeHI3fOlzo

What a flashback. Had these DVDs 😆 these fellas will get a car another 300km from where I would have got the shits and started walking

Lulz!

This thread makes me want to revisit an idea I’ve had bouncing around in my head for awhile: open a used car dealership that only sells rebuilt cars from before 1990 - 2000 or so.

- no computer control

- no fuel injection

Etc.

The entire auto shop would be run by Cubans because those guys know how to rebuild anything with wheels. They’ve had to keep whatever American cars they had on the road since the embargo in the 1960’s.

Where can I pre order?

I’d get behind this.

I own a 1999 Civic, and those things are rebuild-worthy. Not a whiff of planned obsolescence.

Maybe a tech retrofit? Need CarPlay.
