It's important to keep in mind many of these folks are using the most unsustainable agricultural practices that have ever existed only because they're heavily subsidized from the EU and their national governments.

Turns out things like drilling thousands of illegal ponds into the aquifers of semi-arid lands to water the same fields of wheat and barely soaked in chemicals for fifteen or twenty years has a price too.

Support to the farmers, yes. But to those that take care of the lands they work. Those who drain all life out of it and turn it into barren lands while asking for more subsidies can go fuck themselves.
