How can we forget the times we memorize all friends and family telephone numbers in our head. ☎️

Phone technology was weird pre-mobile. "Your phone number is attached to this wall, here?" "Yes, but it has a very long cord!"

Now is on the internet so I can find someone from any place

It hasn't changed a whole lot since most people are KYCed by phone companies. I was screwing with a coworker over text and his wife figured out who I was in about 3 minutes. In fact, it's probably worse since I can't opt out without using tactics to conceal who I am behind the number.

It isn't super practical to avoid this yet given how much stuff they're tied to. I could probably with a lot of work and frustration.

Although I could be missing something here. I haven't went too deep on this issue lately to see what options exist now

Let’s be honest. The spam and scam tools existing at the time were nothing compared to today

My favorite phone book scene!

In Sweden, I can still look up numbers online, and I get all kinda of information, including the persons birthday, and I think address.

People need to actively opt out to ot be a part of it.
