You’re right to some extent, but some ppl like the idea that it doesn’t require the consent of some governing authority, which is clever actually. It actually does though lol.
But yeah, most ppl in crypto are in it out of pure self interest, just like anything else.
I think you should follow all of your fedi friends from nostr if you’re going to use it, otherwise it’s going to make you upset.
Once the IRS starts cracking down we'll see how much they really care about "freedom" or if that's just their mental gymnastics to play the stock market while trying to feel altruistic about it.
