I understand why ppl like crypto, the idea is interesting. But it’s never going to be a real currency, the state won’t allow it, and it’s also super risky and inconvenient. It’s also literally a cult, there’s really no other way to put it.

It's fun for the worshipers of mammon, because they get to feel rich without actually being rich. They get to convince themselves they're being selfless and helping the poor without actually lifting a finger, all the while they look at the almighty stock chart, drooling, under complete control of those little green and red bars, fantasizing about owning a mansion one day after producing nothing of value in the real world...All while they criticize today's rich of the very same thing.

Hypocrites.

You’re right to some extent, but some ppl like the idea that it doesn’t require the consent of some governing authority, which is clever actually. It actually does though lol.

But yeah, most ppl in crypto are in it out of pure self interest, just like anything else.

I think you should follow all of your fedi friends from nostr if you’re going to use it, otherwise it’s going to make you upset.
