Understandable. Thats why a lot of users save in Bitcoin, and spend in Monero. Gold vs cash. Or savings vs checkings analogy.

Fluffy was a previous maintainer that hasn't been in that position for awhile. Isn't even involved with Monero anymore.
Gold is inflationary and was the premier money for civilization for several millenia. Monero has less inflation than gold, so I think it will be ok.
Either way Monero is not trying to compete as a SoV against Bitcoin. Makes no promises about that. It's aim is permissionless digital cash.
