Paid relays only upload content from paying users. So if you disable the global feed from all other relays, then what you see will basically be spam free. Plus you show up in the global feed of other paying users who might want to follow you.
Ahh thanks, so it's not just responsiveness in clients, makes sense now why people are motivated to use them
