maybe you click delete and it gives a confirm delete dialog with the description:
“Deletion on a decentralized network is not guaranteed, there may be some clients and relays that don’t recognize the delete request, but we will try our best”

I think most people would probably appreciate the honesty
if you pick your own relays you already know their stance on deletions, no?
its not just relays, clients can cache notes and ignore deleted. damus ios and notedeck work this way atm. there will be thousands of clients that won’t support deletes
Also your notes could get propagated to relays beyond just the initial set you post to. Relays sync between each other all the time
deleted, signed events can be rebroadcasted to any relays that will accept them

It could be that, perbaps shown once. Andor an info icon next to 'delete request' that you can press and it shows you that bit of text
