nostr.wine relay is 18,888 Satoshi a month which is 10.94 USD a month. I think the price is set in Satoshi and not USD so if Bitcoin goes up then the price in USD goes up. I can't afford that at this moment.

I don't actually know what nostr.wine is offering. I read their site but it's extremely technical.

I can't find a list of paid relays. I want to compare their prices and see what they offer.

I believe the 18888 sats payment is a single one-off payment.

You can pay monthly for another service they run.

It is indeed a single one payment, I am a paying member. Here you have a list of relays, public and paying : https://nostr.watch/

I'm not a fan of one time payments. I think it's not a good business model.

Quote:

"Offering ongoing software updates, maintenance, or services with a one-time payment can seem attractive to customers and might generate quick sales, but it often leads to sustainability issues for the business.

Without a recurring revenue model (e.g., subscriptions), it's difficult to fund continued development, improvements, and support over time. As the product evolves and requires more resources, developers may struggle to keep it alive without additional income, leading to stagnation or abandonment. This is why many modern software companies have shifted to subscription-based models—they ensure continuous funding for growth and maintenance.

It’s a smart business lesson, emphasizing the need for long-term planning in revenue models to sustain quality and innovation."

I don't like that nostr.watch website. He has over 500 relays on the front page. It slows things down having that many on the front page. The site has issues. It's a confusing website and hard to find things. I told the web developer and he got mad and banned me from his telegram group. So I don't use the site anymore.

Ok, I can follow you on this, on the recurring revenue model. Fairly new here, I am figuring it all out. I will definitely check out and try out other paid services in the future, for now I am glad I was able to contribute something. This space is just in the early stages and we need to keep supporting it.
