Ending welfare and the handling of people who are living here illegally are two separate things. You're making it a binary issue. It's possible to do both things. And I haven't seen convincing data to support what you're saying.

Every time someone brakes the law they get ripped from their families and go in jail. This is considered socially necessary to protect the honest people that follow the social rules. Entering illegally in a country doesn't happen. It requires a planning.
