Be aware of "new" people seeking your generous Zaps. Sorry, but I find it odd if someone is brand new, but has a Lightning address and uses two popular hashtags on their second post without anyone telling them to do that on their first post all the while having an incorrectly filled out Nostr address. Now, I get it, NIP-05 or Nostr address is confusing for most people, but having a working Lightning address, now that's a bit suspicious. When we have Bitcoiners that have put BTC addresses and LNBC invoices in there. 🧐

Very true. Try taking a look at this problem from another angle… if “having a lightning address” on day one, is a red flag because of a systemic, ginormous learning curve… then our energy should be spent on barriers to entry. And yes I realize lightning is alpha.

Especially a desktop Lightning wallet. And don't forget 4 out of 6 posts are about Bitcoin. It all paints a picture.

I helped about 10~12 people get started on nostr and with a lightning wallet linked dont think everyone new with a lightning wallet should be insta dismissed as bait , but i fully agree with the message intended

Absolutely. It's much more than Lightning though. It's hashtags and content posted. All of it together is odd.

Such as using a desktop Lightning wallet with Damus and talking about your phone. These are newbie tasks setting up Alby on a desktop and then using Zeus or access it from a phone.
