Just started listening to this podcast because of this recc. First episode I pick, mind blown: seeds contain living microorganisms. They aren’t just coated in them, they CONTAIN them.

And my mind filled with all kinds of thoughts, like:

I bet we’re losing so much diversity there, too.

Yet another way I’m sure conventional agriculture with its heavy sprays and artificial fertilizers is having a profound effect on our crops and health.

I suppose this is another reason buying local seed stock is extremely important.

I want to learn best practices for fostering rich soil life so that I can be part of the solution and provide good seeds to my community.

Nice. This is great stuff. Many great interviews packed with good info.

I wonder if that is main reason why saved seed is almost always more vigorous than bought seed.

I would guess that it’s just more generally adapted to your plot of land. But now that I know this, I’m certain that’s part of the adaptation.

He lives in the next town over from me. Wish he sold produce from a farm stand. I would be all over that

Oh that’s awesome!

I’d buy his seeds for sure if I lived there

He’s speaking at an upcoming local homestead event. I hope they have a stand there with products
