I quit my civil engineering job a few months back and have been seriously comsidering trying to help out a bitcoin/nostr company if I could.

I would ideally look for part time work I could do remotely, even if it was kinda like a freelance setup where I could just be paid by task.

My background was working a lot of CAD softwares but I doubt they translates much to the bitcoin space. I'm a good problem solver and great with mathematics!

Anyone have any ideas of how I could assist in the bitcoin or nostr space or anything materials I should start studying to develop skills that would be relevant?

Appreciate it.

I’m about to leave my architect job too soon

The industry needs more people like you. Network as much as possible, especially if you have meetups nearby. Talk to founders if you can and learn what problems they have that you can help solve. I have confidence you’ll find something.

What about engineering for mining companies? Grids, server farms, me animal, etc..?

following this thread as engineer between jobs

Design Bitcoin mining containers and facilities that are not crap.

Consult for these Citadel dingbats. We need a reality check

I'm a civil engineer too and have been wondering the same thing

I don't know what the civil engineer space is like but if it is possible to be paid in bitcoin for contractual work, that alone contributes to the circular economy.

Also, while you figure out the career side, a very simple way of contributing is to leverage resources from nostr:npub18kpw3akvdsyk239lx0jgwksr74sq4nlha3r8u9g2rnrhztfpfhysy469c4 like the sticker pack or business kits to help orange pill more people and businesses.

Congrats friend. Also a civil eng graduate, though focused in the construction realm now. I hope to one day blend my skillset into the #bitcoin as well. Please feel free to keep me posted I’m curious and excited to see how your journey will unravel 🤙🏼

Nice! Ya I was on the construction side as a field engineer for 3 years and then design for 4 years.

Howdy!

There's some significant overlap between freedom tech and resilient communities. These communities come in all shapes and sizes; and a lot of them are intentionally very low profile. Some of my own interests include microhydropower and 'Terminating Building Societies'.

You have a lot of very relevant experience to offer. I think there's a need to build clusters of professionals who are willing and able to contribute to new and 'rebooted' community projects, and I certainly think that could be done in Nostr.

Maybe have a play with Figma or Penpot to imagine and share what the UX / UI would look like.

Thanks this is great, means a lot.

Same, electrical turned "low level" software recently. My life's cheap right now, just need to say busy. Following.

Ya, I have a very similar situation where the wife and I have minimized most of our expenses. I would like to bring in a little money but it’s really about staying busy and working on things that excite me.
