Sounds like a trivial thing but with the ad not inviting people to buy crypto, a disclaimer would be awkward, too.

Ah cool, thanks for finding it. A curious case indeed, which is less surprising considering how completely out of the ordinary this ad is.

Coinbase wanted this to happen, so they could generate publicity via this "ban" narrative

If they really want to see it on national TV, they should just produce one with the obligatory disclaimer. If not, they probably didn't want this to begin with.

My guess is that more people have seen it thanks to this "ban" then would have seen it otherwise

And, if Coinbase thinks I'm wrong, they're still free to edit the disclaimer in and get it on TV anyway

more people maybe but certainly different people than on TV. And the ad is aimed at no-coiners I would say.

Fair point. Indeed, it's a bit strange that they didn't do that to begin with. Something is not quite right in the story, it's murky.
