Installation manuals are great and all, but they rarely take into account reality. Nothing is ever perfectly square (especially when you’re reusing old structure built by somebody else who may or may not have known what they were doing and has been here for give or take 30 years) and wood likes to twist and turn and curve and do weird things. This manual says to basically eyeball the bottom rail, and an inch, and then cut both upper and bottom rails to that number. Well, since the top of these two posts is about a 1/2” wider than the bottom, that would have been ruined had I not checked measurements. #SemiProTipForTheDay #GrowNostr #Handyman #SkilledTrades #WeDontNeedNoStinkinInstructions #NoWaitIWasJokingGiveItHere
