I think it’s rather the civil service system in general. Just think about it, this professorship is a position for life, and the only thing that this professor does is marketing studies for TUI 🤦‍♂️ But then why doesn’t TUI hire him directly and make a free slot for more fundamental research. Brain drain is a big problem in Germany, and nobody’s talking about it.
