As a progressive you’ll see me critical of some bullshit right-wing shenanigans I’ve seen in the Bitcoin community from prominent bitcoiners.

BUT, I’ve also had so many incredible interactions, online and in-person, with many right leaning bitcoiners who have been gracious, kind, and super supportive, with the simple message “bitcoin is for all.” Proud to fight alongside you all for that 🧡

#Bitcoin doesn’t give a fuck. Sats for all.

Totally agree with you. There’s some outlandish things that some Bitcoiners say, but I’m glad that it’s not just another thing for one “tribe” vs. the other. If it’s going to serve as the global base settlement layer, it has to be truly ideology agnostic.

That being said, I’m not sure that the association with strong libertarian views is a net positive for promoting broader adoption. You shouldn’t have to be anti-government to be a strong believer in Bitcoin

True. What’s great about bitcoin is it can appeal to every individual for wildly different reasons. The conflating “bitcoin is __________ political ideology” is not going to get us anywhere. What someone is saying in that case is that if someone doesn’t follow their political/world view they don’t want them to have bitcoin. But clickbait is pretty easy to read out in my opinion.

💯

It always confuses me when modern liberals are anti bitcoin. The most radically inclusive financial system on the planet? Same fair rule set for all? Sounds pretty liberal to me.

Conservatives are the new (old) liberals

Bitcoin is too vast a concept to fit inside of any one political ideology.

We are still in the processing of figuring out what Bitcoin even is and will be, agreed 🤝

💯

The longer hyperB takes the more bearish humanity I become… too many layers of superfluous clown rhetoric/logic to get to the first principles of the corn :-(

Modern liberals are actually more Maoist than liberal.

They changed the meanings of words.

Not fair. Everyone should have been mailed a copy of the white paper the day it dropped. It would have clicked for everyone at first glance.

🤡: “I heard bitcoin is so bad for the environment”

🤡: “The government will just ban it”

🤡: “It’s not backed by anything”

they do not want fair at the cost of control

🤙

Telltale sign they didn't study #BTC

Not true! My Bitcoiner friends are liberal while my conservative (Trump supporter) friends make fun of me and Bitcoin.. They have degrees in engineering and are in sales, I don’t get it. ‘American Dollar and the stock market man!!’…

What confuses me are the hardcore conservative Bitcoiners that are completely against electricity ⚡️ and solar, typing on their cell phone telling people how bad batteries are, because they care for the environment 🥴

The problem is narratives and stereotyping people. There are liberals that are not ‘communists’ and believe in a better money, and there are conservatives that drive electric cars and want to keep the environment clean! One of my Trump supporting Alabama friends drives a Tesla and says it’s the best car he’s ever had!! But doesn’t believe in Bitcoin….

People are all different…

They may have had some liberal ideas (although stupidly naive and selfish) before covid. But since covid they basically got what they wanted - not to go to work and still be paid something - and because of that (lack of other aspirations in life) and because of fear for their lifes they turned into full blown lunatic fascists.
