I like digital ocean but I'd like someone to tell me that something else is better so I can try it.
Cloudflare workers.
1984 lets you pay in corn, but they're not the cheapest. Based in Iceland.

I used netcup.com and it's works fine
I have arrived to the conclusion that nowadays, with the amount of information and cheap HW at our disposal not doing it yourself is illogical. I run a couple of them for different purposes.
A VPS is like having your corn in a CEX, just that in this case is your data.
Be uncesorablr and truly free, no middle man, no one to tell you, "your account have been canceled" with no explanation...And all of them have thag written in their policy.
IP leakage.
if you are concern about it there are easy ways to avoid sharing the IP address of your server using TOR, IPFS or even a non KYC VPN configured in your router.
But if your server is for your own private data to he used only by you and your family I see no need, yet, every risk level is different for everyone
Njalla offers very privacy respecting VPS options including pay in BTC. I have used their other services for years but not their VPS yet, only because I haven't needed one.
