Good morning nostr, another busy day ahead for me. We'll be driving into town to pick up a few things at the grocery store, because we have family coming over this weekend. Then i have more watering to do, plus all the regular chores.

My Start9 journey is coming along. Finished syncing Btc core, now i just started syncing Electrs. Next will be connecting a wallet, but one thing at a time, because i'm just kinda muddling through. I’m on a similar journey with Start9. Trying to get a set up to support a Bitaxe mining with Ocean and lightning payouts. I know it’s not much, but it’s a good learning tool for now, and hoping i can get it set up to then add more hash power in the future.

That’s awesome. I often feel overwhelmed on the technical side of all this- as I have a fiat job and family and can only dedicate so much time to it. But I want my kids to be aware and comfortable with it. And I have to remember that even if I feel behind the cutting edge, we are so far ahead of most people today.

I’m trying to up my homesteading too. I’ve got seeds started under lights inside (still too cold here outside). I’m also coordinating meat and dairy from our nearby rural areas to our community. Agree that every little bit helps!

You should see me trying to explain nostr to my real-life friends. I have yet to find one who’s even heard of it, much less willing to try it. Similar with BTC- although they’ve heard of it, but no wallet or address, lightning or on chain, that we can use between us. I know we say “we’re so early”, but we really are. 😂

Its a struggle with local folks. I only know a couple of locals who own any btc. Nobody even knows what nostr is.

I have this dream that someday I’ll be the “Uncle Jim” in my area, running nodes, maybe issuing ecash, providing in person training on the tools. I’ve learned a lot on line, but I know most won’t spend hours watching YouTube tutorials too. The tools keep getting better, but I couldn’t throw people in the deep end and wish them luck. A bad experience at this point is worse than them waiting until things are easier for the average person. IMHO

Yeah, i think things in the btc space will start moving faster now that the govt goons are off the backs of devs and btc projects. I look forward to seeing things get easier for us all.

Yes! Its a little daunting, but i just ask questions as i go. And start9 makes it easier, once i figured out how to connect to it.
