Looks like Elon has been reading some Austrian economics literature. Still, both guys are wrong.
Public/private keys are the way to go. You retain privacy of your data, but you’re not free from accountability, especially on social media. If you lie, cheat, or steal, the receipts are public — just not always attributed to a legal name.
Governments are indeed worse than most corporations, having a monopoly on violence and money, but technocratic empires can be arguably worse: they possess all the data, all the information leverage, they’re smarter than most politicians and they can cover their tracks better. At least you can see the gun in the government’s hand. The algorithm’s leash? You don’t even notice it’s there.
