It's always the same. Influencers come for the sats, and they leave because there's no algo to amplify their affinity bait and titty wagging.

Don't get me wrong -- I like nostr for this reason.
How do you game the algorithm when thereβs no algorithm to game?
She has 32K followers on Twitter. When I quit Twitter two years ago I had 30K followers. I'd probably be easily double that if I stayed. Am I an influencer? No! I'm just a dude that talks about shit he's passionate about. Full stop.
None of this matters though!
Follower counts are shitcoins and do no matter on any social platform, legacy or new. You know this! Why bring it up?
There are algos here to be gamed though. We see it often. Primal's algorithms are game the most or maybe they're the only ones? It's gotten much better though. I don't believe we have a seen anything or anyone taking advantage of them in a while? Maybe it's been fixed for now, but this is always a moving target. Stay vigilant here.
As for coming for sats, she wasn't a Bitcoiner before, at least her profile doesn't look like it, so how would she be coming here for the sats? Value for value is enticing for MANY creators that haven't gotten any money for their work as they watch influencers whore themselves out for a few dollars. It's cringe, but that doesn't mean that legit creators should not be able to participate in value for value. You participate in it.
Not everyone wants to scam you, brother. Be skeptical, but also don't always assume the worst. Some people just want the freedom to communicate without having some billionaire assholes censor them. We as a community should look to embrace new users, instead of assuming their going to wag their tits, whatever that means.
These reply bots are out of control
They are, it might be time to move back to WoT only relays for the time being.

Content creation is generally unpaid labor under legacy social media. Creators have a right to hop around and see where they can actually make money off their work. Isn't this the free market we're all fighting for?
Lemme get a *fuck yeah!*
I don't think anyone wants to see me wag my tits.
How do you expect to become the next soap mongol with that attitude?
Who said I want to be a soapy Ghengis Khan? π€·
I think this is where we get mixed up on the purpose of social media/role of influencers versus businesses who want to advertise services and products.
Content creators/influencers are producing the content that makes the social media experience so enjoyable. They are pushing things out sometimes multiple times a day to feed the algorithm gods and we get to enjoy that content whether or not they make money off of it.
On the other side - Advertisments SHOULD level the playing field for reaching the attention of people who are enjoying social media. It should be the way to "hack" the system and directly grab someone's attention. (But there should be a cost to using this hack)
Unfortunately legacy social media has abused their power to hold our attention hostage while they control everything we see. They make it hard to get in front of people via their compared algorithm.
Advertisers are often screwed in this business model and either have to pay (not knowing truly how many people see their stuff) or they have to churn out tons of content in hopes to become influencers to try to get "organic" growth.
I present an alternative to this via nostr:npub17vscfmnmshfdw68llhduxtr4h0kkmyhzm4phzs40t3gqsmguz7lsak66ne. An attention marketplace where people can set the price for their attention and advertisers set the price they are willing to pay. Every time there is a new Bitcoin block the marketplace sees if there is a match and shows the person ad. They get paid. Then keep scrolling.
They can then use the money they earned to zap content creators they like.
An actual circular economy!
Benefiting the people whose attention pays for everything, the advertisers who have businesses they want to honestly and transparently promote, and the content creators who will get paid via Value4value if their stuff is actually good.
And it's all opt-in. If someone doesn't want to see ads, they don't have to. Advertisers need a consensual advertising experience for potential customers.
Sharing our video on this idea and nostr:npub17vscfmnmshfdw68llhduxtr4h0kkmyhzm4phzs40t3gqsmguz7lsak66ne's features page for anyone interested.
I'll give it a look. π«‘
