When I find out someone I respect subscribes to identity politics I immediately think less of them.

What are identity politics?
Strong in group preference and political support for race, religion etc…
Oh, I rather define it as a worldview where individuals are sorted into classes defined by their sexual and racial (and other, including socioeconomic) characteristics. And thinking that these groupings almost perfectly define every single persons actions and destiny.
It''s connected with the idea that anyone's success is not due to their hard work, parents, education, luck, ... but rather simply due to their belonging itself to at least some of the "privileged" subgroups, and the systemic exploitation of the unprivileged subgroups.
Really, it's just a zero sum class warfare with differently defined classes.
Of course, the exploitation is unjust, so we need some smart emphatic state rules to fix it. And thankfully, we have the social justice warriors to unconditionally serve this goal.
Yeah we’re saying the same thing
It’s where you are all about politics, like that’s your identity
Blue no matter who, MAGA, etc.
Wait, do you know more than a small handful of people who don't have completely asinine views on many of not most topics? I mean, I love a number of the people in my life, but that doesn't mean they're not jackasses, or that they should be trusted with much more than the drink order.
No I don’t know many. Which is why when someone I thought was intelligent pulls this shit it makes me feel discouraged.
Right there with you 🫂
Do they though? Or are they just to scared to say what they actually think. The easy path is to say "yeah I love watching women with balls boxing at the Olympics"
