Nostr Web Client

Okay I just zapped someone from #Amethyst with #Phoenix, the sats sent but the zap doesn't show on Nostr. I restarted both apps, zapped again, same thing happened again.

Zapped someone else this morning and it worked perfectly fine.

Both times I'm using a solid WiFi connection not mobile data.

The zap that didn't show was to a WoS address. Dunno if that's relevant.

Zaps are set to public by default in Amethyst.

I just cleared the cache of Amethyst and Phoenix, made no difference.

Anyone have any insight into this?

i got used to it i just hope the zaps arrive. I get this when i zap from primal desktop 🖥 with alby.

I'm guessing it's probably an event type some LN addresses don't respond with metadata for (that the invoice was paid) or something along those lines if it happens in different setups then.

But yeah at least I know the sats were actually zapped on Lightening.

Wait actually no, it can't be that because zaps from others are showing, so maybe it's relay related or something? Hence it being random. 🤔

I only zap from within the alby wallet if on nostr. Ibuse Phoenix for things outside of nostr that don't have their own wallet, or I use it in person.

I should do it this too tbh, the Phoenix fees are stupid for small transactions. I'll setup wallet connect.

They're a non custodial solution. The fees are justified because you predominantly control the funds. There are better explanations about this online, but Phoenix is different from the other lightning wallets.

On Damus the zaps and likes of a note go away (visibly unless you manually check). The persistence bug in Damus has not been implemented.

Not sure about the persistence with certain wallet zaps on Amethysts, I have no idea.

On Amethyst the zap icon turns orange instantly if you zap a note usually. And it's seemingly random when it doesn't. It doesn't show on the list of zaps for that note either nor does it get updated when the app is restarted.

That's why I'm wondering if some metadata is just not being correctly propagated through relays or something, because the actual zaps work, they just don't show on Nostr.
